Back to School Sketch & Theme Challenge

This card is for two challenges. Cas-ual Fridays Challenge: Top of the Class and Retro Sketches.

My kids started school on Monday.  It was a super smooth transition for them... so far!
For this card I used the super cute DeNami Back to School Chickie.  I added a Thank You sentiment in red.   The DeNami celery cardstock matched my patterned die cut perfectly.  I added some fun school type lines on the bottom portion of the card base.  The sketch called for some pretty ribbon, so I added some pretty 5/8 grosgrain ribbon.  Perfect little thank you for one of my kids teachers.  My daughter has a male teacher this year, which is a 1st for us.  I will have to get creative for gifts this year.

DeNami Product Spotlight: Back To School Chickie

DeNami Product Spotlight: Back To School Chickie

Perfect time for this cute little Back to School Chickie to be showed off!  My kids 1st day of school is Monday.  We are trying to cram every little bit of fun into this last week as possible.  I sure miss them when they are gone, but it's nice to get lots of "me" time and lots of time to get crafty.
I stamped the Back to School Chickie in black ink onto white cardstock and punched him out with a scalloped circle punch.  I matted it with a red cardstock scalloped circle.  I colored in with tombow markers, added a Hooray saying to the Jumbo Paper Clip.  I figured the Jumbo Clip could hold a photo, to do list, or artwork.  The smaller paper clip is intended to be used as a bookmark or a paper clip. I added a quick bit of twine to the smaller clip.
Make sure you stop by the DeNami blog to see all of the other fun ways the Design Team used this image!

DeNami August Blog Hop: Bright, Bold, & Beautiful

Welcome to the DeNami Blog Hop: Bright, Bold & Beautiful!
You should be arriving here from Glenda's Blog. If not, you will want to start at the beginning of the hop by visiting the DeNami Blog.

Sometimes the smallest stamps can really make a statement... like this small tropical plant image.  I stamped it 4 times with the stem pointed to the inside of the 2" white cardstock square. A fun little design, with 1 stamp!! I  glued a bright button to the center of each.  I added the Thinking of you sentiment in the center of the card. Cardstock colors are Amethyst and Desert Orange.  5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon in Hot Pink. Ink: Versafine Habanero and Cherry Pink Impress.

Your next stop on the hop is guaranteed
to be a good one.... Tammy!!!

This card is also perfect for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.... SQUARE Cards!!!

DeNami Product Spotlight: Open Box

DeNami Product Spotlight: Open Box.  10% off for one week!!

This Open Box stamp has endless possibilities! The Design Team did a great job using it in so many different ways. Make sure you check out the blog!
I started with a red card base that I stamped using the Medium Polka dot background and Versamark.  I added the HOppy Birthday sentiment to a lime cardstock strip and matted with sky blue. The Hoppy Birthday is part of a large stamp, so I just inked up the saying and stamped it.   The frogs were stamped on white cardstock, colored, cut, and foam taped up.  The Open Box was stamped onto kraft cardstock and cut out.  I used an exacto knife to make a slit so the frogs could look like they are in the box.

DeNami Sketch Challenge #13 by Kanani

I used the new Ornamental Centerpiece Set to create some manly type patterned paper.  I stayed away from  glitter and ribbon in hopes that this card would work for a guy.  I added twine and some CASH!  Happy Birthday saying is also a cling stamp.
Hope you get to play along... you have the chance to win a DeNami Gift Certificate!
