Emily did a great job choosing some pretty spring colors for this Color Challenge. As usual, the hardest part is choosing what DeNami stamp to use! I chose this pretty Elegant Floral Arch and layered it over the scalloped oval stamp with the new thinking of you stamped on the inside. I love how I can see exactly where I am stamping with the new cling stamps. The elegant leaf sprig is stamped on the celery cardstock. Added some Extra fine glitter to the flowers and outside of the scalloped oval. DeNami 5/8 pink grosgrain ribbon. I hope you get a chance to join us in this Fabulous Color Challenge!! "Hoppy" Birthday Frogs fit the CAS-ual Fridays #41 Challenge and Anything Goes Challenge needed twine/ribbon. This Card is perfect for both. I kept it very simple, added some crystal lacquer on the balloons and some twine. Patterned Paper from my scrap bin.

DeNami Birthday Sneak Peek

It's finally my turn to showcase some of the newest DeNami stamp images. Hopefully you've enjoyed the 1st few days of the sneak peaks -- you can see the previous days at the DeNami Blog. Paulina has some awesome video's to watch too!

How cute is this cupcake chickie? I stamped it in versafine black ink onto a die cute piece of white cardstock. I stamped the new Happy Birthday sentiment with Versafine Sepia ink onto pink cardstock. Finished off with a hot pink bow. Kraft Cardstock was used for the actually card.

Here is another card using the cupcake chickie. I stamped, colored, and punched him out with a circle punch. I used a new border stamp from the retro borders set to create the hot pink image bordering the chicks. Brown Grosgrain Ribbon and some new pink twine ties on the happy birthday tag. All Cardstock from DeNami: Magenta, Kraft & White. Ink used: Versafine Black, Sepia and Cherry Pink Impress.

I'm always in need of Birthday cards... so the new Birthday Celebration set is perfect! I stamped the long image and colored it in, cut around the scalloped edge and mounted onto lime cardstock. I used a border stamp from the Modern Borders Set to create the blue stripes and dots. I also used the Happy Birthday sentiment again along with some polka dots stamped in lime.

My last card uses most of the same stamps as the previous one. Birthday Celebration Set, Happy Birthday Sentiment, and Polka Dot Background. Since ALL of the new stamps are cling stamps, they are so easy to line up. I've always been an eye-baller and NEVER use a stamp positioner. SO excited for you to try out the new cling stamps... you will love them!!

I love saying stamps, I rarely ever get rid of one once I buy it. Images may come and go, but my sentiments are here to stay. I think this Happy St. Patrick's Day Stamp is TIMELESS. So much prettier than my actual handwriting. I added a few other DeNami stamps, a bit of coloring, and that's it. It's gotta be simple, or I'm not getting cards done in time to send out. 2 Fun Challenges for 1 card

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #119 - Black and White with a splash of hot pink.

Tuesday Trigger -- what a fun photo!! I loved the black and white contrast, so that is where the background comes from. I tried my hardest to add the orange, it just wasn't happening. I did use the frame design in the headboard for the pink frame on my card.

I used PTI Background Basics: Retro with Versamark and White embossing powder. I've used white embossing powder more this month than I have in years. I love the look all of a sudden. All of the DeNami Sheer ribbon is 40% off --- in case you need some. The bike stamp is from Great Impressions, every time I use it I think of my fabulous times teaching at Papertrix in Indiana.... that is where this sweet stamp is from.

I think this is my 4th post for today.... yikes!! My kids are off for the next 4 days so I really took advantage of my afternoon off and had a blast stamping away.

Chartreuse, Gray & Lavendar

I automatically wanted to pull out my DeNami Lilac or Pansy stamps... perfect color combo for them.. right? But, that is what I always do. I am trying to dig through my craft goodies and either use it, or lose it! So, it was the perfect time to use up some of this pretty lime green felt from Queen & Co. The base was stamped with Happy Birthday in Smoky Versafine Ink. The Cardstock base is DeNami charcoal layered with a pretty lavender piece --- even though it looks white in my picture. I added some pretty lavender and clear rhinestones to the top of the felt. Yep, not normally a card I would make, but I guess it turned out "fun".

I found this pretty striped ribbon in my "stash" I thought it would be perfect to make a gift wrapped card with. I used the decorative flourish stamp to create the lime green stamped cardstock base. I added a Happy Birthday sentiment I wanted to add more, but sometimes that backfires on me. Clean and simple is normally best.

CFC #39 Paper Piecing and YCU #6 Sketch

I used the Young Crafters Unite Sketch and CAS-ual Fridays Love Ya to Pieces for this card.

I love this sketch... nice and simple. I stamped the leafy vine stamp in white ink onto black cardstock. I stamped the large daisy with versamark and embossed with white powder, and black into on to the yellow cardstock for the smaller daisy. Finished off with a rhinestone and sentiment.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The kids had fun at school and we had a nice dinner at home. I'm spoiled- roses, new nike's , and starbucks mug.

A Little Birdie Told Me.......

..... that this sentiment is perfect with the tweety bird border image.

I stamped the birdy border and then the harlequin border to create a patterned paper. Then I added the word bubble and was able to fit the sentiment inside perfectly. It is popped up on foam tape, and i just noticed it looks like the birdy is talking out of his bootie. Whoops! I guess I will have to move the bubble over a bit.

DeNami Sketch Challenge #11. I just had to flip it - otherwise it's exact.

Man, I wish I could take better photos...someday I will figure it out! This card is so much prettier in real life. I embossed the sentiment and cherry blossom stamp with copper embossing powder. It seemed to coordinate so well with this gorgeous coral ribbon. It's fun to add color with ribbon, this is fairly neutral otherwise. We are headed to the east coast for Spring Break. I can't wait to see the cherry blossoms blooming! Hoping this sketch inspires you to grab a DeNami stamp and share your creation with us! Such a perfect saying for this DeNami Mimi stamp. The DeNami website is currently down, but I will update with the link ASAP. I'm still using my old stash of SU patterned paper, I will NEVER use it all. I think it's time to purge.... again!! Can you see the sparkly bubbles? DeNami Product Spotlight: Love Script. This stamp is 10% for one week... yippee!!

I wanted the pretty LOVE script sentiment to be the focal point of the card.... so I made it into an arrow like a cupid's arrow. Can you see it? I hand cut the pink heart and stamped it with versarmark and embossed with white powder. Super simple, but hopefully you like it.

This is another card for CAS-ual Fridays #36 Penguin Suit Challenge. Black & White ONLY. I had so much fun with the 1st card, I made a 2nd.

This time I pulled out some Wilson Design Stamps. I used the Simply Silhouettes for the focal image and the circle design from Everything's Owlright for the background design. Super CAS. I added some 5/8 Black grosgrain ribbon pleated it a few times to give my card some dimension.

I've loved this Filigree DeNami stamp for a few years now, and it's still one of my favorites. I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to create the striking white images against the black cardstock. I added some white grosgrain ribbon and a little extra fine glitter to the center of the hearts. I just might give this to my hubby for Valentines Day. I'm going to go hide it now.

I love Valentines Day, but I know not everyone makes Valentines cards... so I thought I would use the small heart outline stamp to make a Happy Anniversary card. I used a Versamark ink pad and stamped the heart onto several colors of cardstock... cut them out and foam taped them onto a white card. I added some small buttons and the Happy Anniversary sentiment.

I've admitted I am a paper hoarder... but thanks to this challenge.... now I must admit I am a chipboard hoarder. Seriously - What am I saving it for?
The DeNami Valentine Blog Hop was so fun... I saw this stamp used several times, so I decided it was perfect for the inside of the chipboard frame. I used some "old" SU patterned paper that seemed to match the frame perfectly. I added some Extra fine glitter with a quickie glue pen, and some rhinestones.

Totally a challenge, I just wasn't felling the pastel colors today. They do remind me of the sea, so I went with a new DeNami Palm Tree stamp that I picked up at the stamp show in October. Just now getting a chance to use it. I live in Vegas, I must own a Palm Tree stamp.... right?

Anyone make any New Years Resolutions? Mine is "Simplify". So far its going well. Simplify the amount of money I spend on clothes/crafts. Say "yes" less often -- I tend to OVER volunteer, especially at my kids school. I'm also simplifying my cupboards, closets, etc. It's been fun and rewarding... lots more to do though.

I just got this gorgeous new Pink Ink pad from DeNami, so I "had" to use it on my card. I also picked up this new stamp when I was at the Vegas Stamp Show a few months back, it was time to give it a try. I stamped the large bamboo leaf in the Pixie Dust pink color, added the sentiment and then went back and used a quickie glue pen to add some Extra fine glitter. I planned on putting a big black bow on the top, but it covered up too much of the pretty pink stamping, so I left in off. Hope it isn't too boring, it is SO pretty in person with all of the glitter on it.

The Young Crafters Unite Challenge is Clean and Simple --- so this card works perfectly for it.

I needed some more Valentines Decor for my house. I thought this theme would be the perfect way to make something. I found this black square frame in my stash. The white and red matting was already there, so perfect!!! I just stamped and layering a bunch of DeNami hearts onto twine and then added the photo and love sentiment. Easy, cute, and DONE. That last part is the important thing, I always have great plans and time slips away before I can complete it!

I cleaned out my craft stash this summer and passed most of my extra supplies and card kits along to stamping friends and cards for soldiers. This was one card that I had already cut, it just needed some stamping. I think the card was from the DeNami classes 3 or so years ago. Yes, I am a hoarder! It did work perfectly with this upright thank you stamp though... perfect fit! I added some leaf stamping to coordinate with the background paper. Added some black rhinestones and black ribbon. I picked up this SU set at a yard sale this summer.... it's perfect for my brother in law.

My card turned out exactly like the sketch, which normally doesn't happen. Nice and simple, perfect for my deer loving brother in law.

I had so much fun using the large mitten a few weeks ago, I couldn't wait to try out the stocking!
Basic Directions: I embossed 6 stockings using versarmark & white embossing powder. I cut out all of them and did some basic stamping to add some pattern to them. Large Circles & Scalloped Circles thanks to my spellbinders dies and added some texture using a new SU embossing folder. I added a bow, ribbon, and button and strung them all together. Easy, perfect decoration for anywhere in your home. I made a few extra of these... they will be perfect gift tags for presents or gift bags.

CAS-ual Fridays challenge ends in 7 hours... I finally had a chance to whip something up for it this morning. I don't normally have pieces hang off the edge of my cards, so this was a challenge! I need a few more thanksgiving cards, so I grabbed 3 DeNami stamps and added some leaves to meet the hanging off requirement. Today is Friday for us here in Vegas, my kids get a 4 day weekend. November is full of lots of days off!

Since the mitten is large, I chose to use it to decorate a bag for Christmas. I embossed the mitten using Versamark and white embossing powder, & added a few snowflakes for interest. I used my handy ATG tape to adhere the cotton balls onto the mittens, they are so fuzzy and soft in real life. My 7 year old actually put the cotton on, she wanted it to be really puffy. A simple string of bakers twine holds the mittens onto the bag.

Product Spotlight: Cornucopia. This stamp is 10% for 1 week!

I used the cornucopia as my focal point, and stamped a matching background using some smaller coordinating stamps. Kind of a busy card for me, but I guess that's what I was feeling like that day! I do enjoy combining different stamps and making unique patterns, I even had some fun coloring too! In case this one is too crazy for you... there are 2 cards below that I made this summer for the sneak peaks on the DeNami blog. A bit more simple looking. This color combo was fairly challenging for me. I love making fall cards, so that helped a bit. I inked up about 2/3 of the polka dot background stamp and stamped on the lime cardstock. 4 little squares were a perfect match for this cute little Thanksgiving set. Colored them real quick (had to get grey in there somehow!) added a bow... done. Perfect little card for anyone.

CAS-ual Fridays: Feeling Loopy. Such a fun challenge this week! I love making these little loop ribbon frames, so I knew right away what I wanted to do for the challenge. Can you believe I haven't used this new DeNami stamp yet? SO cute -- Happy OWLidays. I guess it isn't quite October yet, still lots of time for Christmas Cards.

Young Crafters Unite - Challenge #2. Envelope to Match. I kept it pretty simple, I just stamped the image I used on the card without the saying. My card is pretty bulky, so I didn't need to add more layers to the envelope.

I miss participating in challenges! I finally felt like making a card, so I made a card for my grandpa's 85th Birthday that is in November. I created a background with 2 DeNami Stamps. The Grapevine Leaf stamp is currently out of stock, bummer. I love using the Large Dot Swirls to add some texture and interest to the background... so simple!

Soccer season has started here in Vegas. OUTDOOR soccer in August... when it's above 100 --- crazy for a seven year old to be running around for an hour and a half!! Anyway, that is where my inspiration came from for this card.... my little chickie deserves a rah-rah, she never complains about it being so hot.

Can you see where I used the solid polka dot stamp? I stamped it in green to make the pennant flag strips. Easy way to make your own patterned paper, and a perfect size for sentiments.

Happy 60th Birthday Invitations

My mom is turning 60 in September. I made 24 invitations... similar to the one's above. I changed out the patterned paper, it was fun using up my stash! PTI dies were a perfect fit for the big 60...and they have to be sparkly for my mom. Headed to Knotts Berry Farm and then onto Soak City the next day with my kids and neighbors.... maybe I will have time this weekend to get crafty again.

I've always loved this gorgeous cross stamp, it is so pretty! I wanted it to stand out, so I tried to keep the rest of my card elements to a minimum. Just some basic layering and pretty patterned paper.

I stamped the cross with Versamark and heat embossed with gold DeNami Embossing Powder. Added a bit of green to the leafy portion and then used the quickie glue pen with some extra fine glitter to give it a little glitz.

I used a traditional grape color combo for this card, I just can't get enough of the Amethyst Cardstock. I used a Viva Pearl Pen to add texture to the grapes in the center of my circle, and a few dots on the lavender piece too. I used the leaf image from one of my favorite new sets: Ornament Flowers.

I just got back from a 33 day vacation to see my family in WA. I hope to blog more often as soon as I uncover myself from a bit of my long to-do list! I haven't stamped for about 5 weeks!

I love this stamp! So easy to stamp and cut out. I'm not one for "fussy" cutting, but I can easily do this one. I added some buttons to the center and some leaves, otherwise I wanted the flower to take center stage on this one.

I originally wanted to use the DeNami Rainbow stamp, but I was hesitant that other DT members may use the same stamp. I wanted to do something different. I've seen this technique used before, but have never tried it myself. SO fun to make my own glitter strips into a sparkly rainbow. I used red line/score tape - 1 at a time and sprinkled with glitter. 5 different DeNami glitter colors. Topped it off with the pretty congratulations saying and a few rhinestones.

I wanted to have Colorful and Sparkly Sparklers. I stamped the image in black across my white cardstock. I went back with a quickie glue pen and 5 different colors of glitter. Added a rhinestone to the center of each sparkler to really make them shine. I used the small starburst stamp to create a bit of texture on the red cardstock.

I wanted the Father image to be the focal point of my card, so I kept it pretty simple. The leafy vine was stamped in sepia onto the blue cardstock and then I used a blue marker to add a little dimension. Quick & Simple.

I love this pretty Daisy Vines Paper from DeNami, I paired it with the Pink Paisley paper. I paper pieced Mimi's Umbrella and rain boots with the pink paisley paper also. I tried to keep it super simple, so the patterned paper wouldn't be covered up. Just added a simple blue bow at the bottom.

I must say it is SO nice to be able to resize a digital image, and print it out so quickly. I chose this gorgeous Summer Fairy to work with. I couldn't wait to glitter up her wings!! She is only $3.50 if you love her to go grab her! I actually colored her in with copics and then went to work hunting down paper and ribbon to match. Oh boy, I don't plan on doing that again! I chose this beautiful butterfly image to work with. Since it is a digi-image it was only $1.50. The best part is you can resize it to whatever size you need. I printed my butterfly out onto white paper 3 times. My printer wouldn't allow me to use "fun" paper, so I had to work with white. It worked out well though, I just added lots of color with my copics. I cut out 2 full images, and then the top layer is a half of butterfly to add more dimension. I added some pretty DeNami Extra Fine glitter with my quickie glue pen. Attached the finished butterfly to layered yellow flowers I'd glued to a clip. Looks great in my 6 year olds hair... she was my model. Hope you have the time to play along with us this week... you have until Friday May 13th.

Spring Break this week here in Vegas. My son spent the week at hockey camp, so my daughter and I had lots of time together. I have had this S in my stash for way too long... its a paper one from JoAnne's I think. I had Saryn pick out her choice of patterned paper and a coordinating paint color. She painted the sides of the letter all by herself. I helped glue the paper on. She had fun choosing what flower and button to add. A little twinery twine tied by me... otherwise she did it all! She wanted "sparkles" on it, so we added some rhinestones to each butterfly. It is now proudly displayed in her room.

I was given this super cute Party Fhinoa stamp to work with. She is adorable... and perfect for the challenge this week. I used some large paper clips that were purchased at Walmart to make some bookmarks. I used dies and punches to create the circles and sandwiched the paper clip between.

A bit closer of a picture, I added rhinestones to her tiara and extra fine glitter to give her some sparkle.

Perfect fit on the book. She peaks out and looks adorable while saving the spot for my daughter.

DeNami Rainbow

Today is the beginning of our spring break.... so what better way to celebrate than with a rainbow card? My buddy Paulina and I want you to know how fun this rainbow stamp is.... so we are both showcasing it today. Make sure you head over to her blog to see what she did with the same stamp.

The Rainbow was stamped 3 times on the white cardstock, and again on some scrap paper so I could mask it. I was able to stamp the polka dots over the rainbows this way. The Cloud stamp was stamped on white cardstock and cut out, a lil foam tape makes them look puffy. Some coloring, glitter and ribbon was all I added.

I'm in charge of making the April Teacher/Staff appreciation gifts for my children's school. The school had these cute little pots to use up, so I planned around them. I wanted to spray paint them white, but due to time I am leaving them green. I purchased See's Lollypops... hopefully a lil more special than a normal sucker would be. A friend used her cricket to cut out the flowers. I added a DeNami button to the center of each flower, and used my quickie glue pen to add twine around the button. I tied 3 bows around the "stem" of the flower. I used caribbean, pink sorbet, lilac and lemondrop twine.

Super cute even without the pots.

This is what the back looks like. You could sandwich another flower on the back if you wanted.

Polka Dot Overload! Play Date Cafe Challenge #76

The Play Date Cafe Challenge colors this week scared me, until I found my favorite turtle and I felt right at home. This card came together quickly this morning, such a great way to start off a Friday!

I used a PTI stamp and die to create my focal point and stuck the DeNami Turtle in the center. Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Stamp, Paper, and Turtle all have polka dots.... I just couldn't stop myself!! I actually am in love with this color combo now, so glad I gave it a try.

I almost missed the deadline to participate in Color Cue Challenge #13. So glad I had the time this afternoon to whip up a quick card. Whenever I see grey, I think of elephants, and the remainder of the colors seemed to work well for a baby boy card. So I went with it. I love the new brother & sister set, since I have an awesome sister. I love this new label and die together, so simple and easy! I used the polka dot elephant from DeNami in the center. PTI embossing folders. I'm still getting the hang of them, but I think I'm going to "need" more. Such a fun way to add texture.

I honestly had this challenge written down from weeks ago, made the card yesterday and was surprised when I saw how similar my colors/theme were to Amy. I used Stampin Up textured yellow paper that I received as a gift from a SU stampin buddy in CA. Thanks again friend! Embossed the DeNami Cherry Blossom Garland using versamark and white powder. Grey scrap mounted onto a white piece of cardstock with the contempo thank you stamp. It's Monday, and my MOJO is lagging, so my card looks almost exactly the same as the inspirational card.. Play Date Cafe Challenge #74 Turquoise and Purple.... Gorgeous!!! I was instantly inspired by the color combo, and loved the potted plants hanging on the wall.

I used the Lilacs in Pitcher stamp from Lockhart Stamp Co. Colored in real quick with my copics. I used Lovely Lilac Cardstock... I've had it for 12 years or so, it's about time to use it up! Broke into some new patterned paper from My Minds Eye - Stella Rose, Hazel Paper Pad. DeNami purple button, twinery twine. Fun ribbon, and of a doily. Are you sick of purple and doilies yet? DeNami Product Spotlight: Chickie Easter Basket

Product Spotlight Time~ We are showcasing the sweet chickie easter basket today on the DeNami Blog. 1st off, I must give full credit to Laurie for inspiring me with her beautiful card. I used the same layout, it was perfect for the easter basket stamp... thanks Laurie!

I used lavender cardstock and stamped the polka dot background with versamark. The Easter Basket is stamped in Versafine Smoky Grey, and Happy Easter is Purple Brilliance. I scored lines above and below the basket, hard to see in the picture. The fabulous pink grosgrain ribbon was tied doing Paulina's Fancy Bow - she has a video if you need to see it. Tombow markers, rhinestones, and DeNami Extra Fine Glitter added the finishing touches.

CR84FN Color Challenge #20

CR84FN Color Challenge #20 - I had to play along.... I LOVE purple! I dug out my DeNami Lilac stamp and colored away with my copics. Turned out a bit bluer than the plum colors in the PTI Guidelines Paper, but close enough for me. I even did some machine stitching around the smaller panel, I need to use a darker thread next time so it shows better. OH, and this stamps is less than $10, I just noticed it is being retired.

I thoroughly enjoyed the DeNami Floral Frenzy Blog Hop a few days ago. I absolutely loved the card that Dana made, you can see it on her blog here. When I looked at the colors for the Play Date Cafe Challenge, I just kept thinking about Dana's card. I thought her color blocking technique with the white embossed floral image would be perfect. I used the DeNami Cherry Blossom Stamp and added some pretty rhinestones in the center of the flowers. I also used a copic marker to highlight the inside of the leaves/flowers. It doesn't show up in the picture, but it helped to give the image some dimension. I thought these were pretty tough colors to use, so I'm excited to see how easy you all make it look!!

CR84FN Color Challenge #19

A few weeks ago I was the lucky winner at CR84FN - I won the gorgeous stamp set and paper you see above. So, I thought I would thank Mona and CR84FN and make a card using the stamps and paper.

As you can see, the colors for CR84FN this week are Aqua, Grey, & Steel Blue. I really needed grey ribbon.... I was shocked to find out I have NONE. I settled on using some vintage lace. I love the stamps, and the paper, but I don't love this card. Something seems to be off or missing. Oh well, I gave it a shot! Love the button I found in my DeNami Aqua Bag of buttons though, and added a pretty rhinestone to the center.

These colors are SO fun --- I "had" to play along!! I love green, but I probably wouldn't have put these colors together on my own, that is why I love Color Challenges. These colors are for the Colour Q Challenge #76.
