Taylored Expressions Sketch #114

Taylor's sketches are always fun - this is #114, that is a lot of sketches. I always have a hard time placing buttons randomly, you'd think it would be the easy part.  This is the large chickie from DeNami. Goes perfectly with the Just chickin' up on you stamp.  This is a short post - my kids only have 3 days left of school, so we have lots of end of year functions & projects.  I can't believe how fast the school year went!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #5 & CAS Sketch

Why not combine two great challenge into one card - right?  Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #5 was a color challenge. Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet & Chocolate Brown.  The Clean and Simple Sketch FTL #91 was a super fun sketch. I somehow forgot to add the sentiment, but love how the embossed dots add texture anyway.   The DeNami Chocolate Brown Glitter Ribbon is so fabulous in person, too bad it doesn't look as great in this photo. I think this might be the 1st time I've inked up my new PTI Beautiful Blooms 2 set, I love it though! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Time for another DeNami Product Spotlight.  You must check out the DeNami blog and see what the Design Team Members created!  Our challenge was to use the graduation owl image. SO fun to see what everyone does with the same stamp.  I know I've received a few announcements over the last few weeks. It's always good to have a few cards on hand for graduation. The one I made is gender neutral- perfect for a guy or gal.

Happy Birthday to You

I love combining challenges - this card is for Laura's sketch this week at 2 Sketches 4 You and also the color combo Dawn chose for the Color Cue Challenge. White - Navy - Light Blue- and Light Yellow.
Woodgrain Silhouettes Stamp set was perfect for these springy colors.  I always need birthday cards, and I think this sentiment from PTI Damask set is so pretty. Yes, I'm addicted to this yellow satin ribbon- I've used on my last 3 posts, atleast I didn't do the exact same ribbon technique.....  I added just a touch of DeNami Extra fine glitter to add some emphasis to the center image... so pretty in real life!

Blast from the Past Blog Hop - Taylored Expressions

Taylor is having a fun blog hop today featuring stamp sets that were released prior to 2010.  I chose the Branching Out set.  I used the tree branches and smaller stamps to create a cute little scene on the kraft circle. I also used the tree image to create a stamped design on the aqua cardstock, but somehow I managed to cover most of that up.  I did this same ribbon technique a few days ago, it just seemed to be a perfect way to incorporate some ribbon into this card.  Looks like the birdie is chirping because the sun just came up.  I also used the Woodgrain Silhouettes Stamp set from WPlus9 to add some woodgrain texture to the panel behind the circle.
Be sure to hop along and see all of the other participants creations:

2S4Y #52 & Embellish Color Challenge

This card is for 2 challenges: 2 Sketches for you sketch by Kazan  and also the color challenge for Embellish.  I did use mounting tape to mount up the HI circle, it reminds me of a bottle top.  This is one of my all time favorite stamps from DeNami - the Filigree Centerpiece.  The patterned paper is actually the only part of this card I even like... oh well. I even had fun coloring in the image with my copics.
Normally I can create a card in one sitting, pretty quickly.  This card took me 3 days to finish, and it isn't even fabulous.  I searched for my new PTI scallop border die, and never found it. SO sad it is lost in my messy room somewhere.... so I had to use the SU border punch instead. Not the look I was going for.  We were busy with birthdays this week, along with tennis and football practices & games.  So happy to be leaving on vacation.  We are headed to Newport Beach.  This is where we will be staying, in case you want a visual! Pool time, playing at the beach, taking in a Anaheim Angels game, pure family fun!
Happy 8th Birthday Kasen --awesome guitar, no clue how to play.  22 kids came to his party at the indoor putting place, me and my sweetie, my husband and I with our daughter & neighbor girl.  I can't figure out how to type this inbetween the photos -but I think you will figure it out.  Have a great weekend!!!

The Get Sketchy sketch this week has a perfect way to use buttons, SO I had to give it a try.  As always, I am trying to use some of my patterned paper up - this is some fun glittery embossed paper from DCWV Whimsy Stack I bought last spring at JoAnn's.  Oh, and I love the way the ribbon looks like a sun behind the circles... so FUN!

Cardstock: PTI Melon Berry & New Leaf
Patterned Paper: DCWV Whimsy Stack

CPS 166 Sketch - DeNami Scooter Girl

Card Positioning System has a fun sketch with an arrow in it this week.  I really tried to use an arrow on this card - but it just didn't work with the scooter.  I used some ruffled up ribbon instead and let it hang off the card, a little like an arrow- right?  I used the fun Mimi on scooter stamp from DeNami.  I love adding just a touch of glitter to the headlight on her scooter.

Supplies:
Stamps: Mimi on scooter
Cardstock: Red Bazzill
Patterned Paper & Die Cut: Sassafras Lass
Ribbon: Red & Pink Grosgrain 5/8 from DeNami, PTI Hawaiian Shores
Misc: Foam Tape, Corner Rounder, Copic Markers, Quickie Glue Pen & Extra Fine DeNami Glitter.

Clean & Simple Sketch - FTL89

One of my good friends just finished up school and is now a Nurse Practitioner - she SO Deserves a fun card and some chocolate covered espresso bean that she loves.
I am a visual person, once I saw the picture of the sketch with the stars - this is exactly what I pictured.  I had to use stars for her.  I used Summer Sunrise Cardstock and Ink, sorry the photo looks orange.  I LOVE adding DeNami extra fine glitter to the sentiments in this set.
Happy Friday.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Sketch Challenge #3

WOW, I've had a crazy busy week, sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Teacher appreciation week, volunteered at school a lot, and preparing for my sons birthday party tonight.  I was treated to having my house professionally cleaned from top to bottom yesterday.  Thanks to my awesome husband!  SO, today I had some time to whip up a few quickie cards when the kids were at school.
I'm loving these Paper Doll Sketches - I think this is the 3rd in a row for me.  Fairly simple sketch, but I love the simplicity.  I'm also in love with PTI Hawaiian Shores Cardstock.  I paired it with the everyday blessings patterned paper.  I am stuck on using the Say It With Style stamp set... hope you don't mind.  Fun flower, making memories brad, and some bling finishes it off.

DeNami Color Challenge by Beka

Happy Cinco De Mayo!  Anyone going out for some chips & salsa tonight?  My kids have tennis lessons tonight, so we will probably be warming up left overs when we get home.
There is a new Color Challenge on the DeNami Blog.  Beka chose some fun colors: Hot Pink, Turquoise, Lime Green, White & Black.  Bright, Cheery Colors - perfect for spring.  Make sure to play along if you get a chance, and check out the other projects made by the design team.  I used the DeNami Swirl Stamp as a flower stem. I did have to add that upper inch or so of straight "stem".  I just used a black marker and drew a straight line...easy! Seriously, I can't draw much, but this worked perfect.

All Supplies from DeNami:
Stamps: Large Bold Hibiscus, Swirl.
Cardstock:  Black, White, Pink Paisley, Green Dot.
Ink: Black Versafine
Misc: Button, Robins Egg Ribbon 5/8,  Twine, Tombo Markers, Corner Rounder, Thread & Sewing Machine for stitching.
