PTI Paper Dolls Sketch

Paper Dolls Blog posted a fun sketch this morning.  I just happened to purchase the Go-To Sketches Magazine at Michaels a few days ago.  LOVE IT!  I've had this Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper from PTI for awhile now, I don't seem to use it when I make baby cards, so I thought it was time to use it for something else.  Perfect FUN Thank-You card.  I added some glitter to the Thank-You saying.

Hoppy Birthday - CPS Sketch

Card Positioning Systems has a great sketch this week.  I immediately thought of these cute DeNami frogs.  I had the pretty green ribbon laying on my desk from a project I made a few days ago, so that was my starting point.  Green and frogs just seem to go together!  My ribbon looks funny- must have tipped when I walked from my office to the bathroom to take this picture. YEP, I take most of my pictures kneeling in my corner tub... perfect lighting!
All supplies from DeNami:
Stamps:  Hoppy Birthday Frogs
Cardstock: White
Patterned Paper: Green PaisleyPeppermint Blocks
Misc: Tombo Markers, Nestabilites, DeNami Button, Ribbon. SU Border Punch

Papertrey Paper Dolls Sketch Challenge #1

Isn't it amazing how blog world can take you from one place to another?  I sometimes start searching and find my self somewhere, and can't figure out what I was originally looking for.  I've had a few ladies comment on my blog that are part of the Papertrey Paper Dolls Blog... so I thought I'd give there sketch a try.  I loved the sketch... just not how my buttons look.  Seems like everyone else was able to add some cute buttons as an embellishment, but mine just look like they are floating.  Oh well, cute baby card anyway!  Thanks for the fun sketch & I look forward to seeing more.

DeNami Penguin and FTL #87

Anyone that has kids in elementary school knows how many birthdays one child can attend every year -- a lot! SO, simple birthday cards are a must for our family.  I know the recipient will most likely just toss it anyway, so simple works!  This FTL #87 sketch on the Clean & Simple blog is perfect for this occasion.
I love this super cute DeNami penguin stamp. Perfect for little boys or girls.  This is obviously for a little boy. I added some crystal lacquer to the balloon, so it looks nice & shiny.

April Papertrey Ink Blog Hop -- Tissue Paper

April Papertrey Ink Blog Hop --- Tissue Paper is the challenge. I had to try to re-create these amazing flowers that Betsy made.  Obviously my flower didn't turn out as fabulous as hers, but now I know how easy it is... and I want to try felt & fabric next!  I also used her bright & springy colors for my starting point for this "thinking of you" card.  Thanks for hopping by... have a great evening!!

Taylored Expresssions Sketch #110

Taylor has a great sketch on her blog - #110 already!  This is the 3rd card I've made today, so now I need to clean off my desk!  Amazing how bad it gets... so quickly!  I LOVE the new Hawaiian Shores Color from PTI.  Finally had time to pull it out and use some today.  I had these DeNami flowers & leaves already stamped & cut out from the PTI blog hop a few month ago.  They were a perfect fit for this card.  I'm a basic grey paper lover- this is from the Urban Prairie Paper Pad.
Have a fabulous weekend.  If the wind would stop blowing here in Vegas.... it would be perfect spring weather.  We have been in the 80's and 50's this week, crazy!

Embellish Color Challenge & CPS Sketch

Embellish Embossing Color Challenge.  FUN colors today. I coudn't wait to give it a try!  I even made two cards.  The top card is also for the Card Positioning System Sketch this week. I flipped it on the side though, so it looks a lot different.  I wanted to be able to use the crown.  The card is for my daughters teacher.... she calls herself the queen of the class, so I thought this would be perfect.
Blog hopping is costing me some money lately.  I came across some cute samples using this stamps set.  SO, I had to have it.  It is not normally something I would buy, but I love it!   I'd never even heard of Ippity Stamps, see... blogland is getting me in trouble!
We might have a name picked out for our puppy already.  I mentioned "Miley" and my husband & daughter love it.  My son hates it.... not a fan of Miley Cyrus.... aka Hannah Montana.  Maybe if I spell it MyLee or something different....

Our Puppy needs a name

I've been married to my husband 10 years this coming June.  We've always wanted a dog.  Our kids have BEGGED for a dog for years.  We finally decided it was time.  This is our sweet little GIRL (Lab puppy).  10 days old in this picture from the breeder.  We will be picking her up June 13th.  We need help naming her - ANY ideas would be appreciated.... my family isn't good at coming up with ideas...... See:
My son wants to name her : Goober.
My daughter's idea:  Goldilocks
My husband: Cabo

Color Cue Challenge #3 -WPlus9 Stamps

Thanks to my friend Paulina and the pretty cards she has been making with these stamps... I now own a few sets of my own.  I ordered them earlier this week, and was happily surprised when they arrived from Florida a few days later.  Dawn has some really fun color challenges... this one was tough for me!   Golden Yellow -White - Melon - Blue or Grey.  You have until May 7th to participate in the challenge.  I used SU Bashful Blue, PTI Summer Sunrise and Berry Sorbet.  I added a touch of bling using a quickie glue pen & extra fine glitter.  I used the Woodgrain Silhouettes Stamp Set.

Baby Sympathy Card

Two words that should never go together. Baby-Sympathy.  My son's teacher has a close friend that lost her baby boy during delivery.  I offered to make a card for her to give the family. I normally can make a card in 10-25 minutes, this one took me an hour. Yes, it has a simple layout and hardly any stamping... but I couldn't decide if a bow was appropriate etc. etc.  Hopefully you never have to make a card like this, but thought I would share it anyway.  I also want to make a few pet sympathy cards with the Papertrey Ink Pet Sympathy stamps.  Whenever I need a card like this I seem to not have time to make a specialty card, and then I feel like it's too late to give one when I have time.  You know?

Since my card was a "downer" today.... hope this picture brings a smile to you today!  This is a cute picture of my 7 year old son.  He had his adenoids removed last week.  He was fully recovered a few hours later.   We have had quite the hard time telling him No sports, No bikes, etc.  The Dr. said 2-3 weeks with NO P.E, NO Recess.... we might cheat a bit.

2 Sketches 4 You #50 - Teacher Card

2 Sketches for you - Sketch #50 by Kazan. AWESOME sketch, I might try this again soon and flip it on the side. Teacher appreciation week is only a few weeks away. Thought I would get an early start on a few cards. I dug through my stash and found this cute apple image & coordinating paper by SassafrassLass. I make a non-stamped card every few months or so... just seems unfinished. Maybe I will stamp on the envelope.
